Reading between the lines in the 2Q26 Management Discussion and Analysis of SPVI Public Company Limited (SPVI): Revenue up 1.3%. Net profit up 148.8%. And non-Apple products are named as a margin driver, with no split disclosed.
The numbers
Top-line growth slows to 1.3%
SPVI is an Apple-authorized reseller and service provider in Thailand, operating 62 branches under the iStudio, UStore, AIS Shop by Partner, Mobi, and iCenter names, alongside online channels. In 2Q26, total revenue rose 1.3% YoY to Bt1,962m, slowing from 7.6% growth in 1Q26. The MD&A notes temporary shortages of certain products, as manufacturer deliveries were allocated in sequential lots.
Purchase discounts lift margin; fixed costs fall
Gross margin widened to 11.6% from 10.1% in 2Q25, which the MD&A attributes to higher purchase discounts from distributors and a change in product mix. SG&A fell 3.1% YoY to Bt172m on lower personnel and depreciation costs following store closures and impairments in prior periods, easing to 8.8% of revenue from 9.2%. Net profit rose 148.8% YoY to Bt53m, with a net margin of 2.7%, up from 1.1% in 2Q25.
Payables settled, cash drawn down
Total liabilities fell 31.8% to Bt498m from Bt731m at end-FY25, mainly from the settlement of trade and other payables and lease liabilities. Trade and other payables fell to Bt289m from Bt495m. Cash and cash equivalents fell to Bt172m from Bt360m at end-1Q26, with a Bt58m FY25 dividend paid during the quarter.
What the numbers don’t show
Comparing the 2Q26 MD&A with 1Q26, most of the movements are explained within the filings themselves. One detail is worth noting.
Non-Apple products named as a margin driver in 2Q26
The 1Q26 MD&A attributed gross margin expansion to more efficient cost management and higher purchase discounts from distributors. It named strong demand for the iPhone product group as a key sales driver. Non-Apple products are not referenced.
The 2Q26 MD&A names non-Apple products twice: alongside Mac as a driver of revenue growth, and as a higher share of sales that is one of two reasons gross margin rose. Neither filing discloses revenue or margin by Apple and Non-Apple product groups.
